ABBA is the Project Manager for 1HWY1, the developer responsible for the unique reimagining of one of the most important pieces of real estate on San Diego’s waterfront. ABBA’s primary role has been to oversee the general contractor and design team in the conceptual design phase. ABBA has managed the development of new marinas, parking structures, and observation tower. ABBA has helped 1HWY1 navigate considerable seismic issues, including an active earthquake fault. Their team has analyzed the market and project feasibility, and developed the entire Pro Forma for the 1HWY1 partners. We have also developed a unique diversity and inclusion program to provide SBEs, MBEs, DVBEs, DBEs, and SLBEs the opportunity to work on a world-class private project.

SDIA TERMINAL 2 WEST FEDERAL INSPECTION SERVICES

SDIA TERMINAL 2 WEST FEDERAL INSPECTION SERVICES
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority relocated the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility from Terminal 2 East to the recently completed “Green Build” portion of Terminal 2 West by repurposing six aircraft gates into independent/swing gates that could accommodate three wide-body and three narrow-body aircrafts. The new, 130,000 square-foot International Arrivals facility completed construction in June 2018. This project consists of multiple airline and tenant support spaces to accommodate construction phasing, which includes new facilities and reassigned aircraft spaces. ABBA was the document controls manager and coordinated the entire project closeout.

PALOMAR COLLEGE: LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER

PALOMAR COLLEGE: LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER
Palomar Community College District recently completed construction of an 85,000 SF 4-story Library and Learning Resource Center to replace current outdated facility. The new Library (LRC) consists of an expansive entry atrium, collaboration and group study in both private rooms and open areas, classrooms, training and meeting rooms, individual and group open lab tutoring, and a computer commons with both individual carrels and group settings, and Staff offices. ABBA provided project oversight reporting to the Program Manager on all daily onsite-subcontractor activities and man count. We prepared daily observation reports, daily activity photo records, and general administrative support such as tracking Contractor allowance funds and processing payment applications.

SAN DIEGO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (SDUSD)

SAN DIEGO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
ABBA is providing Construction Management and staff augmentation services for modernizations, construction of new facilities, HVAC upgrades, and technology infrastructure improvements at San Diego Unified School District. ABBA’s knowledge of the program management process from beginning to end provides an integrated method of project management that transitions smoothly through each step of the process. Currently, ABBA is managing the new 7-acre Correia MS Complex construction build out. The Project is scheduled for completion on April 1, 2019.

GROSSMONT HEALTHCARE DISTRICT

GROSSMONT HEALTHCARE DISTRICT
ABBA and Gafcon established paperless meetings with all documents centrally filed, tracked, and located on a secure portal accessible 24 hours a day. Documents are referenced during ICBOC meetings, demonstrating true transparency and supporting the commitment to sustain paperless operations. Additionally, ABBA provided the support required in communicating relevant bond program updates to the community through comprehensive mid-year and annual reports. Gafcon also provided risk management and financial reports to the CEO, Legal Counsel, Board of Directors, and the ICBOC.

ABBA was a subconsultant to Gafcon who implemented Unifier Facilities Management and Program Controls software including 11 custom processes and 10 custom reports to help in managing over 200 buildings nationally. ABBA and Gafcon will soon begin an integration with their iWMS to integrate service requests into Unifier for all BCBS SC users.

GROSSMONT-CUYAMACA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT
ABBA was a subconsultant to Gafcon who has been providing program and project management services to District for both Propositions R ($275M) and V ($398M). The team has been integral in coordinating with various stakeholders, including end users, faculty and staff, and selected A/E and contractors – all with the goal of delivering a program that meets the District’s needs.

SDIA TERMINAL 2 PARKING PLAZA
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority completed the Terminal 2 Parking Plaza in 2018. The new plaza includes covered parking, more than 2900 spaces, 16 EV charging stations, and easy access to the terminal via a covered walkway. ABBA was a subcontractor to AECOM’s Program Management team and facilitated project closeout and project controls.
